Thanksgiving Feast 2010! "Warpath" by Mike Grell

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Groove-ophiles in the U.S. of A.! And happy Thursday to the rest of ya! We're kickin' off Thanksgiving Feast 2010 with an all-time fave, Mike Grell's Warlord! The Warlord is Iron Mike Grell's signature creation, and one of DC's best-sellers of the 1970s. Why was The Warlord so popular? 'Cause it was dyn-o-mite, baby! A smart mix of Robert E. Howard, Edgar Rice Burroughs, and Prince Valiant with intelligent, ground-breaking writing by Grell, topped by his bold and unique artistic stylings made Warlord stand out from the "usual" DC fare. For proof, look no further than Warlord #30's "Warpath" from Thanksgiving 1979. Enjoy!

This is just the first course of Thanksgiving Feast 2010, Groove-ophile! Ol' Groove'll be back every six hours with another sensational and savory sample of sequential splendor. See ya at 6:02 A.M.!

As for the rest of ya, the purpose of this blog is to (re)introduce you to the great comics of the 1970s. If you like what you see, do what I do--go to a comics shop, bookstore, e-Bay or whatever and BUY YOUR OWN!
